Hockey Has Returned: Protocol Patience Needed!

OGHA Update

Hello Tiger Families.   

I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy & safe during this unprecedented time.

The OGHA executive had their first virtual meeting on Monday April 27th followed by a conference call with OWHA on Tuesday May 5th to discuss the current situation and moving forward.  At this time Hockey Canada has suspended all activities until the end of June.  The OGHA will be postponing their Annual General Meeting until further notice.  The current executive will remain the same until we are able to safely hold our AGM, at which time we will have elections, go through the finances for the 2019/20 season and answer any questions our membership may have.  As soon as a date is set, we will post the AGM on our website. 

At this time, we have decided to hold off on opening our Registration for the 2020/21 season.  Unfortunately, we do not know when the season will start or how it will look.  Once we are given direction from Hockey Canada and the OWHA we will share updates with our membership.  One thing is certain, hockey as we know it will change in the future. 

It was extremely unfortunate how the season ended for everyone.  We had our Midget BB and Atom A teams headed to Provincials, our Atom A team was battling for first place in the LLFHL, our House League teams were headed to Day of Champs, teams missed year end tournaments and our Fundamentals, Tyke 6 & Tyke 7 teams were going to play in our 2nd annual March Madness Jamboree.  If at all possible, we are hoping to hold our year end banquet before the end of August.  We want to officially celebrate all of our team’s successes and wish our 3rd year Midget players all the best for the future.  If it becomes evident that we won’t be able to hold our banquet we will make arrangements for players to get their pictures and year end trophies.
