Our U11 BB Tigers are the official 2023 OWHA Provincial Champions!
The team qualified back in early March to advance to Provincials by beating the Grand River Mustangs in a best 2 out of 3 series.
Provincials kicked off Friday, April 14 for the U11 BB division in Scarborough.
Tigers started the tournament off strong by beating Leaside 2:1. They faced Flamborough for the second game that day, ending in a 2:2 tie.
The team beat Sarnia 2:0 Saturday earning them first place in their pool and a spot in the Quarter Finals that afternoon. Quarter Final against Oakville ended in a 2:1 win for our Tigers and advanced them to the Semi Finals Sunday morning.
Our U11BBs played a very tough Bluewater team in the Semis but walked away with a 3:1 win and a ticket to the Provincial Championship Gold Medal Game!
The final against London was the first time this team played 12-12-15 minute periods with a flood in between the 2nd and the 3rd period. Tigers were down 2:0 after the 2nd period but came out ready to fight for the final period scoring 3 goals! The 3:2 win against London earned them the Gold Medal and Provincial Champions title!
This team has earned 2 Gold medals and 3 Silver medals in tournaments throughout their season on top of winning Provincials. What an amazing record! Great job Tigers and coaches!
