U11 BB Tigers win Gold in Pink the Rink Tournament
Our U11 BB Tigers competed in the Etobicoke Dolphins Pink the Rink Tournament this weekend in support of Breast Cancer charities.
Not only did the girls walk away with a gold medal, they won the Pink the Rink competition for the team that brought the most pink spirit and some lucky players happened to run into a few Maple Leafs on their way to practice at the Ford Performance Centre.
U11 BB Head Coach Lisa Lomonaco:
"What a weekend!! The Orangeville Tigers U11BB took the GOLD medal at the Pink the Rink Tournament in Etobicoke.
The girls played a 3 game round robin winning 2 games and tied 1. They clinched 1st place in their pool and played the Kanata Rangers; which resulted in a nail biting game that went into overtime after pulling the goalie to tie up the game with 10 seconds left! The girls went on to win the 4 on 4 overtime!!
All that was left was the finals at 8am Sunday morning against the 1st place in the other pool. From the energy dance party in the morning, to their warmup stretch, the girls were ready! With an amazing 5-2 score, the girls pulled off the championship win!!!
Congratulations girls, we are all so proud of you!! On to the next challenge.."
